What is integrative medicine? I am a firm believer in getting to the root cause of disease versus treating symptoms. I also believe it is important to have an open mind and draw on the knowledge and experience of all modalities of medicine including western and eastern medicine. I have studied holistic nutrition, ayurveda and chinese medicine. I also use energy medicine, stones and crystals to create positive energy and allay anxiety. It is possible to uncover the root cause of anxiety by altering diet and creating a spiritual practice. By using these modalities I can look at your tongue and see how your digestive tract is doing. I can assess the hydration status of your body and pinpoint certain areas of the body that need attention. It is my intention to eliminate the need for excessive chemicals and medications that treat symptoms, but do not address the root cause of the underlying issue. I do not believe that flouride is the cure or proper prevention for all cavities. It is apparent from the extensive literature that when our bodies are lacking the appropriate minerals, they will be pulled from our teeth and bones, therefore making us more susceptible to infections, including cavities. The key to health and wellness is a robust digestion and the appropriate amount of vitamins minerals and oxygen. PRF

(Platelet-Rich Fibrin)

PRF is an autologous blood concentrate prepared from a patient's own blood just before or during a dental procedure. Blood is drawn from the patient and immediately spun in a centrifuge machine to separate the different blood components into individual, concentrated layers that the clinician can use in many applications. The PRF layer is a yellow and thick jello-like biologic material rich in fibrin and growth factors. In the absence of PRF, dental extraction sites are commonly left to heal open to the oral cavity where saliva, bacteria, and other contaminants are free to enter the socket. When PRF is placed into an extraction site, the PRF protects the site from infection and enriches the area with proteins that accelerate healing.

Localized delivery of specialized Hydrogen Peroxide into periodontal (gum) pockets. Chinese and Ayurvedic practitioners often first look at an individual's tongue to determine overall health. As a dentist, I am looking at tongues all day and the texture and color can give me clues about digestive issues, hydration status and inflammation. Often signs of disease present before symptoms, so if we can identify a weak area in the body, we can work together with a physician to restore the body to good health.
